One of my Dad’s favorite sayings
The picture below is of me and my Dad, who was my real life hero.
He could do anything!
Worked 3 jobs most of his life, and had such bad back pain he had to have help to walk up our driveway when he was 29 years old. Cancer took him early, in 2009, at the age of 79. But he taught me so much about life and people, I still use those lessons today.
“Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.”
-- Rear Admiral David G. Farragut
That was one of my Dad’s favorite sayings, and he was fearless. With 7 kids to feed, he had to be. Starting this company in the worst recession/pandemic/global freakout in world history, or at least the last 102 years, seemed like the right thing to do.
And today is April Fool’s Day, but also the launch date of our website.
Why start a consulting business in the midst of a pandemic and with many businesses shutting their doors or laying off people? Why not?
It comes back to my Dad’s saying. Or as #WarrenBuffet says about investing, when others are buying, I am selling, and vice versa.
My friends have all said there is never a best time to start a business, so now is as good as any. I hope to give you a blog post monthly about CIO topics and business strategy. I also have a few people lined up for guest blogs as well.
Stay Safe, and keep going.
Just starting this journey, please send me any suggestion you have for blog entries around Data Protection, Data Management or specifically Archiving and Compliance.
